Between picky eaters and stretched budgets, eating out with kids isn’t always easy. But plenty of neighborhood spots (local bistros, taquerias, cafes, even breweries) offer “kids eat free” nights that make it doable. They’re just not always shouting it from the rooftops.
Here’s how to find them.
Try searching with specific phrasing:
Then switch to Google Maps > Explore > Offers, and look for restaurants running weeknight promotions.
Facebook mom groups, Instagram pages, Nextdoor, and even local subreddits are gold mines for this. Search “kids eat free” in the group or post a quick ask. Most moms will happily share their go-to spots.
You’ll often find gems like:
Many towns have digital magazines or newsletters (think Eater LA, Austin Moms Blog, or Nashville Guru) that round up dining deals by day. Search “[your city] kids eat free site:eater.com” or “[city] moms blog kids eat free” and it’ll surface local posts that are updated regularly.
Bonus: these often include seasonal deals, like Halloween “kids eat free in costume” promos.
Small, family-owned spots rarely update their websites, but they do post deals in Stories or captions. Follow your favorite local restaurants and look for hashtags like #kidsmenu #familydinner #kidsEatFree.
You can even DM to ask directly: “Hey, do you guys do any family-night specials?” Most will answer fast.
If you already have a few go-to places, just ask. Some restaurants don’t advertise free-kid-meal nights but will tell you at the register or when you call ahead.
Try asking: “Do you have any family-night or kids-eat-free deals during the week?”
You’d be surprised how many local cafes, diners, and even breweries have quiet Tuesday or Wednesday night promotions just to fill tables.

You don’t have to default to chain restaurants to score a free kids’ meal. Local places want families in the door, and if you know how to look, you’ll find cozy neighborhood gems that make dinner easy, affordable, and fun!
